Asghar Yaghoubi is a painter, sculptor and art teacher. Born in Shiraz, Iran, he has lived and worked in Malaysia since 2008. He is the Founder of the Mahtaab Vocational Training Art Institute and moka’ab Visual Art Institute. He is also the founder and director of Cube Gallery in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Yaghoubi has participated in more than 40 individual and group exhibitions.
The Story of Gordafarid : Gordafarid was one of the heroines in the Shahnameh “The Book of Kings” or “The Epic of Kings”, an enormous poetic opus written by the Persian poet Hakim Abu I-Qasim Firdawsi Tusi around 1000A.D. She was a champion who fought against Sohrab, another Iranian hero who was the commander of thr Turanian army) and delayed the Turanian troops who were marching on Persia. She has become a symbol of courage and wisdom for Iranian women.
