Title : A Bird Is Free Artist : Lim Anuar (B. 1969, Kuala Lumpur) Medium : Batik Year : 2015 Lim Anuar is a professional designer and specializes in batik as influenced by Batik Master Tay Mo Leong (Datuk). Lim Anuar’s batik works provide a new refreshing look and different perspectives, depicting the daily lives of the Malaysians in the markets, villages, and ordinary places. His works had been collected by many institutions as well as private art collectors. In 2013, two of his paintings were chosen to be exhibited in the Arts Kuala Lumpur exhibition in Miami in conjunction with the Arts Basel Miami, Florida. In 2014, five of his paintings were chosen for Arts Kuala Lumpur exhibition in Melbourne, Australia, the event being organized and supported by National Visual Art Gallery and MATRADE. His five works were sold out at this exhibition in Melbourne. One of his paintings was also displayed in the National Visual Art Gallery, Kuala Lumpur during its Open Show event 2015.
